How to Make You and Your Website Credible by Sally Strackbein
When your primary product is your service, credibility is critical. A great website is compelling. By presenting your authentic personality and your competence, you immediately establish your credibility.
Real People
Website visitors want to know real people.
They are tired of impersonal brochures. They don't want to read just a laundry list of credentials. They want to know the people in your business and why your people are jazzed about what they do. Your customers want to do business with real people.
Be Found
People search the Internet for local businesses.
One key to being found is to prominently display your business name, location and some key phrases describing the business. Search engines use those words to index your site. Then people who are searching for you or your product or service can find you.
If a site has great graphics and no text, search engines can't index the site and no one can find it.
Compelling Advertising
The Internet is the cheapest advertising your business can have. The Internet is the new global reference. If customers can't find you on the Internet, they'll find your competitors.
A website creates a unique advertising opportunity. A business must be thrifty in its advertising because of high printing, media, and postage costs. A website provides a low-cost introduction to those
who want what your business provides. You can put as many articles and pages as you need for very little extra cost. Anyone who can create a flyer in a word processing program can build their own
website. Today, website creation software is so easy, you don't even have to know HTML.
Qualify Your Customers
Use your website to explain everything the customer wants to know about your business. By telling your story, your business attracts people who like you and who value what you do. Your prospects qualify
themselves before contacting you. Because your business has credibility, sales are easier. A website is one more way to provide customer-oriented selling.
Act Now
Are you putting off launching a website because you think a website has to beautiful and perfect? Some of the most effective websites are plain. Some ineffective websites are beautiful.
Do it yourself or have someone do it for you. Don't wait! If you have a business, you need a website! It's much easier than you think.
